Hope

“In and through and by and because of him we and all men have a hope of peace in this life and eternal glory in the world to come.  He is our hope.  Without him we would have no hope of immortality, ho hope of eternal life, no hope of continuation of the family unit, no hope of eternal progress, no hope of exaltation, no hope of any good thing.  All the hopes of all the righteous of all the ages center in him.  ‘O Lord, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the Lord, the fountain of living waters.’  (Jer. 17:13; 14:8; 50:7)

Missionaries

You don’t measure a missionary by the number of baptisms they have, you measure it by how their grandkids turn out.

Failure on 2 of the 3 will usually end in sin.

Is life fair?

If life was fair Christ wouldn’t have had to suffer for your sins!

Pause for a moment and check where your own heart and thoughts are. Are you focused on the things that matter most? How you spend your quiet time may provide a valuable clue. Where do your thoughts go when the pressure of deadlines is gone? Are your thoughts and heart focused on those short-lived fleeting things that matter only in the moment, or on things that matter most?

Prayer

Emergency Preparedness

If You......	You could be dead in....
Panic	3 to 4 seconds
Don't have oxygen	3 to 4 minutes
Don't have shelter	3 to 4 hours

Don't have food	3 to 4 weeks
Don't work as a group	3 to 4 months

Don't let your guard down.

Satan can't have a family, so he wants yours.....

Mercy

I man had a heard of cows, and he gave one of the calves to his son.  One night there was a storm, and the next day his son went to look for his calf.  He couldn't find his calf in the heard, but he found that the storm had blown down the fence; and then he noticed the neighbor to the south had branded his cows that morning, and the boys calf and its mother had wandered into the neighbor heard in the night and now wore the neighbors brand on their side.

The boy went to his father and explained what he had found.

The wise father said, we have 2 choices:

1.  We can go to the neighbor, and try to explain what happened, and try to get the cows back, it would be his word against ours, and would defiantly cause strife between us for years to come.

2.  We can not mention it to him, I can give you the next calf we get, and we can keep the relationship we have with the neighbor.

The son thought for a min. and then said they should do #2.

In doing so, the neighbor never knew about the mistake, but the young boy will never forget the lesson learned.  And hundreds have been in awe at the Christ like mercy extend by the faithful farmer to a neighbor who never knew he had done wrong.

Forgiveness

There is no true forgiveness without forgetting.

Savior

We must come to know the Savior as our mediator; when the debt comes due the Savior will step forward for those he knows, the mediator can only pay a debt for his friends... We do not want to hear the words "I know ye not"

True Love

Catastrophes will come and go but true love is one continual round.

I don't need to know everything.

I don't know everything; but I to know where to find it...

Endure the storms of Life.

It seems the storms of life have both a physical / spiritual side.

 

Communication    Ham radio, cell phone   /   Prayer

Food                     Meals   /   Word of God

Water        1 gallon per person per day  /  Faith in Jesus Christ   (a little each day, not a whole lake one year and nothing the next year.)

Personal items       Clothing   /   Testimony, Journal, Spiritual gifts

Shelter        Maintain temperature, protection from the elements    /   covenants, obedience

Sanitation            First Aid    /   Repentance   (both daily and accident)

Light          replenish the power source   /   Spirit

Documents              cash, insurance, zipdrive, list of valuables, marriage license   /    Tithing, offerings, donations, temple recommend

Testimony

The gospel of Jesus Christ is short, sweet, and simple.

A simple principle of the gospel, followed by a personal testimony of it, will have a profound influence on all involved.

Steps to becoming more spiritual

1.  Seek the spirit.

2.  Live worthy of the spirit.

3.  Give gratitude after you receive spiritual experiences.
