"With all the blessings our modern age has given to us, let us not give up the things that promote the workings of the Holy Ghost."
--Neil L. Andersen, "A Gift Worthy of Added Care", Ensign, Dec. 2010, 30 -35
Sometimes I have deep thoughts, some are so deep they seem to come from somewhere besides this world. Other times I hear them from those around me, and feel I must share them with the world.

“I would never invade the United States. There would be a gun behind every blade of grass.” ~Isoroku Yamamoto
Fire, fire, fire - you've got to become a pyromaniac. It's the only way to survive! Freezing rain is worse than deep cold, because you can't even build a snow cave or snow shelter... THIS is one skill which WILL save your life- even without shelter. If you want to survive, LEARN THIS SKILL! ~Dr. André F. Bourbeau
‘The civilized man has built a coach, but has lost the use of his feet.’ ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
"I am far from perfect. But I will be perfect for that imperfect someone who is perfect for me." -Anon
Success isn’t about achieving something in the future, but about doing something right now that you love. ~Zen Habits
We Live In The Land Of The Free Because Of The Brave.
The proper role of government is to protect equal rights, not to provide equal things. When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty - T. Jefferson.
It’s all about energy. Whether you’re leading a nonprofit organization, running a private company, doing something outdoors, or conducting military operations — you have to build habits that keep your energy high. This is my formula: (1) Vigorous exercise: Six days a week, I walk out of a gym, a dojo, or off a track pouring with sweat … (2) Good fuel: When I eat clean, quality food during the day, my energy never sags. (3) Good partners: Working with a team of positive people keeps your spirits up. (4) Balance: I pray every day, and I also laugh, a lot. You won’t have focus without balance. (5) A goal: A worthy challenge will take care of your motivation for you.
~~Eric Greitens
How far that little candle throws his beams. So shines a good deed in a weary world.

Apostle Orson F. Whitney (1855–1931) of the Quorum of
the Twelve Apostles, explained: “No pain that we suffer, no
trial that we experience is wasted. It ministers to our educa-
tion, to the development of such qualities as patience, faith,
fortitude and humility. All that we suffer and all that we
endure, especially when we endure it patiently, builds up
our characters, purifes our hearts, expands our souls, and
makes us more tender and charitable, more worthy to be
called the children of God . . . and it is through sorrow and
suffering, toil and tribulation, that we gain the education
that we come here to acquire.”
Quoted by Spencer W. Kimball in Faith Precedes the Miracle (1972), 98
"I too believe that God will always make a way where there is no way. I believe that if we will walk in obedience to the commandments of God, if we will follow the counsel of the priesthood, he will open a way even where there appears to be no way."
--Gordon B. Hinckley, "If Ye Be Willing and Obedient", Ensign, Jul 1995, 2
Men may fail in this country, earthquakes may come, seas may heave beyond their bounds, there may be great drought, disaster and hardship, but this nation, founded on principles laid down by men whom God raised up, will never fail. This is the cradle of humanity, where life on this earth began in the Garden of Eden. This is the place of the New Jerusalem. This is the place that the Lord said is favored above all other nations in all the world. This is the place where the Savior will come to His temple. This is the favored land in all the world. Yes, I repeat, men may fail, but this nation won't fail. I have faith in America; you and I must have faith in America if we understand the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are living in a day when we must pay heed to these challenges.
I plead with you not to preach pessimism. Preach that this is the greatest country in all the world. This is the favored land. This is the land of our forefathers. It is the nation that will stand despite whatever trials or crises it may yet have to pass through.

"Noah had the unwavering faith to follow God’s commandments. May we ever do likewise. May we remember that the wisdom of God ofttimes appears as foolishness to men; but the greatest lesson we can learn in mortality is that when God speaks and we obey, we will always be right."
--Thomas S. Monson, "They Marked the Path to Follow", Ensign, Oct 2007, 4–9
“In and through and by and because of him we and all men have a hope of peace in this life and eternal glory in the world to come. He is our hope. Without him we would have no hope of immortality, ho hope of eternal life, no hope of continuation of the family unit, no hope of eternal progress, no hope of exaltation, no hope of any good thing. All the hopes of all the righteous of all the ages center in him. ‘O Lord, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the Lord, the fountain of living waters.’ (Jer. 17:13; 14:8; 50:7)
You don’t measure a missionary by the number of baptisms they have, you measure it by how their grandkids turn out.
